$$$ for saving CURSED game project!!! ( coder wanted )

Hey all, I've been pinned with an unfortunate situation as of late. This enormous game I've been toiling away at just can't seem to find a coder that sticks. An NG programmer who goes by "Souled" came close, creating the great engines the link leads to, but in the end the curse worked it's evil on him too.

For the record, I'd like to think I'm not just being a dick and chasing them all off! :P

    Points of interest:

50/50 profit split between me and who ever codes this game
The art is basically done, so the sooner you can complete coding, the sooner the project will be done
The art is pretty good if I may say so, and I believe we could rake in some good sponsorship. I'm not saying it's a sure bet, but chances are we will make something off it. It's a job, and in this day and age, that's saying something.

If interested, check out the details, pm me, ask questions, e-mail me--please, ONLY IF YOU BELIEVE you can stay on thru the whole project, you can imagine how irritating having to search for and re-direct new coders over and over can be.

    Thanks,
    The Millz

I wish I could code something epic like buttons but sadly I'm not even that skilled at this thing you call script.

    sorry only a 3D animator...

I think I could do some of that coding, but I'm not 100% on ALL of it though. I also have trouble sticking to a project, sorry dude. Looks like a great idea as well.

It's ok, you wouldn't be the first! :P

I got to admit, this project intrigues me. Im a flash 8 AS2 expert with specialization in side scrollers. none the less I have to admit, this is one tough cookie to crack. its a nifty concept but man... insane coding. I know how to make a detailed curved floor hit test and I think I know how to account for the changes in gravity in a 90 degree scenario. what may stump me is the 'shuttle loop' style of walking up a wall and becoming upside down without the gravity engine dropping you on your head. then I must ask, is there jumping? that would just complicate it to no end. ....... I'm interested in this and I dont know why XD if you dont find anyone anytime soon, drop me a PM. ~ Xan32

Well that test engine is in AS3, but the last coder was nice enough to give that engine to the next guy to carry from, so if you wanted to do it in AS3 ( or look at it and derive from it possibly? ) that main part is done, it would be enemies, specific levels, shooting/health of player and audio files that you would have left.

On your first example, the background layers move faster than the foreground, which doesn't make sense...

@Xandu: I think it would all be rather easy if you just calculated gravity counter to whatever direction the character was currently angled, then rotated the level as needed. It would just be like a dynamic hit-test based terrain.

Well it was just a quick example, and even if the speed was a bit fast, if that's the only part you find to be weird, you'll really trip when the golden octopuss pops out of the bushes or when the paranoid sun causes the background to have a bleeding acid effect
